About IFLA

International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA)

IFLA is the global voice of landscape architecture. Representing over 77 national associations, IFLA connects landscape architects across five regions to advocate for sustainable, resilient, and inclusive environments. The Asia Pacific Region (APR) is one of its most vibrant chapters, encompassing rapidly urbanizing countries that are at the frontline of climate change, biodiversity loss, and urban expansion.

IFLA’s Mission:
  • Champion the landscape profession worldwide
  • Promote policy and design strategies for climate action
  • Create platforms for professional exchange and education

Why Asia Pacific Matters: IFLA APR

With nearly 60% of the world’s population, the APR is where global challenges meet innovation—and IFLA APR 2025 is where these ideas converge.

IFLA APR Committee

IFLA Asia Pacific Regional Committee

The IFLA APR Committee is composed of representatives from national associations across the Asia-Pacific region. They are responsible for regional programming, cross-border collaborations, and initiatives that address shared landscape challenges—from rising sea levels to urban liveability.

Roles of the Committee:
  • Define strategic themes for the APR Congress
  • Liaise with host countries and chapters
  • Ensure regional representation in global forums

For 2025, the APR Committee is working closely with ISOLA to design a Congress that reflects the urgent landscape priorities of our time.
